The Red Lion shortlisted for Great British Pub Food Awards 2011
12.Jan.2011
The Red Lion has started the year on a definitively high note, as it has been shortlisted as a finalist from hundreds of national entries in the Great British Pub Food Awards 2011.
Selected as just one of three finalists for the Italian Food Pub of the Year category, the Red Lion was favoured by the judges for its authentic wood-fired pizzas and homemade pasta dishes, all made from scratch using fresh Neapolitan ingredients and using traditional preparation and cooking methods in the form of the homemade pasta machine and the wood-burning pizza oven.
Commended locally as a pub with a unique offering, the Red Lion will stand the test of a panel of judges who are to visit the establishment to undertake a rigorous interview and an all-important taste test. The winner will be announced in a grand awards ceremony in London in March, as well as being featured in the Morning Advertiser magazine, the official Awards sponsor.
Such an achievement further fortifies the Red Lion's reputation as an esteemed local and national establishment, and with any luck this will be recognised to its full extent at the Morning Advertiser's Great British Pub Food Awards Ceremony 2011.
